4th of July in Costa Rica

This was our first big holiday that we celebrated out of the U.S. I can not tell you how excited I was to smell hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill! We are currently house sitting for a family that returned to the States for a few weeks, so we had the ideal place to host a party. It was great to relax with other families and have fun playing card games. The best part was being able to celebrate the freedom we have with other missionaries who have become like family.

We are so thankful to have the opportunity to be here learning Spanish before we head to Ecuador. It's hard to believe that we only have less than 2 months before we finally arrive! God is teaching me (Amanda) so much right now. I have been attending a ladies bible study called the "Inheritance" by Beth Moore. It's been a blessing to hear some good dynamic teaching... in English:-) and to share our trials and heart with other women. What a privilege to intercede for others and see God do amazing things in the lives of those around us. Just yesterday I was encouraged by this verse:

Hebrews 6:10-12 "God is not unjust, he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised."

How encouraging to remember that we must not only have "faith" but "patience" as well. For our God is faithful and just, and we will inherit what He has promised us!!!
